Kemmanagundi
A scenic hill station located just a few kilometers from The Last Resort. Situated at a height of 4,732 feet above the sea level, it is famous for its rich and diverse flora & fauna. When you are in Kemmanagundi, one of the main things to do is to trek to Z Point, a peak that offers a breathtaking view of the sunrise and sunset.
Kallathi Falls
A beautiful falls located about 10 km from our homestay. It is 122 meters in height and is known locally as Kalahasthi falls or Kallathigiri falls. This cascading falls is a very popular tourist attraction among Chikmagalur visitors.
Hebbe Falls
It is 168 meters in height and the falls stream down in two stages to form Chikka Hebbe (small falls) and Dodda Hebbe (big falls). From our homestay it is just a downhill trek of around 10 kms.
Honnamma Falls
As a tribute to saint Manikya Dhara, the locals call it Manikyda Dhare. About 24 kms from our homestay, it is a popular pilgrimage destination in Karnataka.
Bhadra Tiger Reserve
India's 25th nature reserve and a major attraction for tiger lovers and conservationists. It is a huge expanse of bamboo trees surrounded by beautiful coffee estates. Besides wildlife like tigers, deers, elephants, panthers and gaurs, it is also home to over 250 species of birds.
Jagara Pass & Jagara Valley
A lush, pristine and scenic valley just 16 kms from Kemmannagundi. It is a favourite among wildlife fans and adventure enthusiasts. It is also an ideal spot for trekking and hiking.
Mullayana Giri
Walk amidst the clouds. Situated at a height of 6355 ft. above sea level, it is the highest peak in Karnataka. Dattatreya Peetha located here is considered as a holy place by both Hindus and Muslims.
Amruthapura Temple
Experience history at this ancient temple situated at an idyllic location close to the Bhadra river reservoir. It was built in 1196 under Hoysala King Veera Ballala II. Since centuries, the temple has been a key pilgrimage destination in Karnataka.
Z Point
Z Point is Kemmanagundi's major vantage point, and a favourite among trekkers. It is a 13km trek from our homestay, and the panoramic view of the sunrise and sunset is truly spectacular.
Horse Way
Horse Way is a small narrow pass in the creek of a hill just near Kemmanagundi. It was a favourite place of the Maharajas of yore for horseback riding. It also offers a spectacular view of the sun rise and sun set.
Bababudangiri
A scenic hill destination just 58 kms from our homestay, it is located 18664 meters above sealevel. Bababudangiri was the first place where coffee seeds were sown in Chikmagalur.
Shanthi Falls

Belur and Halebid
Just 3 hours from The Last Resort are the world famous temples of Belur and Halebid.Built during Hoysala dynasty nearly 800 years ago, these ancient temples are famous for their intricate carvings and pillars.
Rose Garden
As the name suggests, it is a garden of roses under the supervision of the Horticultural Department. Just a couple of kilometers from The Last Resort, it houses several varieties of roses and is a delightful place to just stroll and relax.
Muthodi
Known for its wildlife sanctuary and the backwaters of Bhadra reservoir, Muthodi is about 3 hours from our homestay. Drive through this sanctuary to experience a variety of wild animals like bisons, panthers, wild boars, sambars and other exotic animals.
Raj Bhavan
Raj Bhavan is a Govt. guest house about 13 kilometers (30 minutes’ drive) from our homestay that offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding hills. The sunset view from Raj Bhavan is truly breathtaking.
